We are highly obliged to present historical menu-scripts of quran attributed to Hazrat Uthman Ibn Affan (Radi Allah Anhu), third caliph of Islam.
Companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to write down quran in his noble life-time and memorize it. According to a number of narrations, we know that Quran can be read in 7 different dialects, all approved by Prophet himself. The four rightly-guided caliphs played a major role in compilation and preservation of scripture along with Syeduna Zaid bin Thabit R.A. We highly recommend all readers to read a book of their choice on 'Compilation of Quran' (Urdu/ Arabic: تدوین القرآن) to get this essential knowledge. We believe that 'Introduction' section of Maariful Quran (Written by Mufti Taqi Usmani), downloadable from our library in English and Urdu, can be a good starting point. More books on this subject are available in our bookshelfs on Usool At-Tafsir (Books, Media). |
