The Fitna of Takfeer

The issue of takfeer is a highly sensitive topic. It is the misuse of the issue of takfeer which the Khwarij of today use to kill the Muslims, just like their predecessors from the past. It is accordingly important to clarify the context, reasons, circumstances, and requirements associated with the issue of takfeer. It is absolutely forbidden in Islam to shed blood of any innocent person, irrespective of the faith the person adheres to. We accordingly caution about the seriousness and sensitivity of this matter. It is not any ordinary person or layman to issue takfeer of someone; this is a highly complex matter which should only be applied under unavoidable circumstances and only be learned scholars.
