Salat / Prayer

Before we start..
There have been a few differences between the four great Imams and Salafi brothers on how to perform various aspects of prayer. 
These differences are mainly due to following reasons:

- The methodology of fiqh adopted (Usool al Fiqh, Find books on this subject here)
- Interpretation of relevant references from prophetic traditions
- Aspects related to authenticity of ahadith adopted for forming specific rulings regarding Salah (Find books on this subject, Usool Al Hadith)

My opinion in this regard is that: 
- Unless you know above three areas, do not get in to unnecessary argumentation and discussions
- If an opinion is based on authentic hadith, it should not be considered inappropriate merely because it differs from yours. Even companions used to have a few differences of opinion among themselves (which is perfectly normal and healthy). Difference of opinion should be dealt with respect and on scholarly basis.
- If you are confused about an issue, consult an authentic Islamic scholar
